Aakaar Asia's largest civil engineering department festival was successfully conducted on the 18th and 19th of March 2023 at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay. After a gap of 3 years, this 15th edition of Aakaar-2023 was fully offline at IIT Bombay, where about 2000 footfall of participants took place with more than 300 outstation students staying at IIT Bombay, who came from various other IITs, NITs, CFTIs, State and Private Colleges across India.
This year's 15th Aakaar-2023 had total 35 technical events, which was almost double the number of previous year's events, including 10 Lecture series by several eminent industrialists, academicians, policy makers, with panel discussions. Keynote Lecture by Dr. NIRANJAN HIRANANDANI was the show stealer of Aakaar-2023 with maximum number of audience. Total 16 competitions took place during these two days with 5 parallel workshops.
One of the highlights of the festival was the competitions. Several exciting competitions were organized, including Bridge IT, MSE Wall, Conquer IT, Smart Pitch, Seismic and LogiQ. These competitions challenged participants to apply their engineering skills and creativity to real-world problems.
Under the umbrella of the 7th edition of the International Civil Engineering Symposium (ICES), Aakaar conducted a Paper Presentation, Poster Presentation, City Planning and a first-ever edition of a 3-Minute Thesis Talk (3MTT) to bring out the talented and potentially impactful researchers into the limelight and to provide a platform for young researchers to showcase their work, learn new skills, and connect with peers and experts in their field.
Workshops on civil engineering softwares like Staad Pro, Fusion 360 and Primavera were conducted by professionals from these softwares.
The exhibition showcased the latest innovations and developments in the field of civil engineering. Companies and organizations from across the industry showcased their latest products, services, and technologies.
The lecture series provided a platform for leading academics and industry professionals to share their insights and experiences. The lectures covered a wide range of topics, including emerging trends in civil engineering, sustainable infrastructure development, and the future of the industry.
