Placements have started in the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) from Friday. On the very first day, there have been recruitments on an annual package of above one crore rupees. This top hiring has been done by American multinational company Microsoft, in which it has placed an offer in front of the students of IIT Roorkee, Bombay, Madras and Guwahati campuses.
But the student of Computer Science Department of IIT Delhi achieved it. Apart from this, the company has also done three recruitments from the Roorkee campus. Offered to two students of Guwahati campus and done eight domestic placements. At the same time, IIT Bombay and Madras refused to give information about this. However, an official announcement is yet to be made on this.
Microsoft has taken a total of 12 IIT students to its headquarters in Redmond, Washington. At the same time, those who got placement in Microsoft India got jobs at an annual package of up to Rs 34 lakh. Apart from Microsoft, companies like Apple, Uber and Nasdaq have selected students at IITs this year with good packages.
On the other hand, Apple company, which reached IIT Kharagpur for the first time, has selected five students for data analytics. The name of Uber is also included in the list of companies offering bumper packages. The company has offered an annual package of Rs 99.8 lakh. One student each has been selected from Mumbai and Chennai campuses.
Manu Santhanam, consultant in the Department of Training and Placement at IIT Madras, said, “The placement season has begun. Huge amount of offers came on the very first day. We hope that this caravan will continue in the days to come.” Let us inform that by the end of the first slot at 4 pm, 99 students had got jobs. Whereas, a total of 100 students were placed in the Guwahati campus till 8 pm.
