In a funding round by Singapore-based restaurant marketing and customer engagement platform Mobikon and investors like SandipanChattopadhay, SurojitNiyogi, Founder of Perk.com, Rajesh Sawhney, Roshan Abbas and Japan Vyas, fresh funding were raised by Hipcask. Although the amount and terms were not disclosed, this is the second time Hipcask raised funds led by Mobikon.
Hipcask was started by Aneesh and Shiladitya Mukhopadhyaya in 2013. At its initial stage the app was just a database that provided a list of wines found in India. Later it grew to add taste graphs that identify every user’s preferences and likings by keeping in mind their consumption.
The company launched pre-paid cards called ‘Passports’, their version of F&B loyalty market. For searching different outlets of coffee and tea, the Chai and Coffee Passport can be used by the users. While the Craft Beer Passport is used for craft beer industry.
AneeshMukhopadhyaya says “Hipcask is at a great spot, where we have a very good proposition for consumers and brands as well. Our analytics platform is the first of its kind for alcohol brands, and now, we will be working closer with Mobikon to scale the business very aggressively.”
This funding round will help Hipcask to strengthen their team and build deeper tech integration.
